What is KunYin Yoga?

This is my own unique fusion of Kundalini Yoga practices with Yin Yoga practices. It offers the use of sound & mantra, Kundalini principles, married with the Daoist insights & deep physical & emotional release of Yin Yoga.

Life is lived fast these days. In terms of energy, we call this yang energy. Busy-ness. Fired up. Caffeined-up! We rush & race using precious energy to do so.

The opposite of yang energy is called yin energy. A go-slow, savour the moment, ‘take it gently’ energy.

Many yoga classes work with the strong yang energy; cultivating that beautiful inner fire that cleanses, purifies, & gives us heat & light.

In KunYin Yoga, we cultivate a different kind of energy. Yin Yoga focuses on holding postures (asanas) for longer periods to deeply stretch the connective tissues- ligaments, tendons, & fascia (connective tissue). The focus is on letting go, deep relaxation & breathwork, & allowing gravity to take us deeper into release.

A perfect tonic to counteract all the fiery yang energy we surround ourselves with. And a beautiful compliment to other yoga forms that you enjoy.
